I have found the coolest cat beds that are hand made by a woman named Linda. They are 100% cotton fabrics in wonderfully colorful designs that you pick! And they are machine washable. She makes cat quilts, sofa savers, cat beds and crate beds. Some of the quilts have a draw chord so you can make it into a round bed as well. Update finally!  I purchased 3 of the beds that have draw strings so that you can loosen them in the summer and use them as mats.   They wash up easier in a front load washer, too.  The cat beds arrived with 3 custom made catnip toys.   So the beds, the toys and the box were all catnip infused by the time they arrived.  I opened up the box right away much to the delight of my 3 girls.    And much to my delight I had a circus in my living room for about an hour.
